WASHINGTON – As RepresentUs celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2022, the leading right-left pro-democracy organization announced Tuesday that Josh Silver is passing the Chief Executive Officer torch to fellow Co-founder Joshua Graham Lynn.

“We are deeply grateful to Josh Silver for having the vision to create RepresentUs, and helping it grow into the nation’s leading right-left pro-democracy organization,” said Jon DeVaan, RepresentUs Board Chair. “We are pleased and excited that in Joshua Graham Lynn, we have a terrific leader who is experienced, passionate and smart. We’re grateful for the continuity his commitment to our organization means.”

RepresentUs envisions an America where government is truly of, by, and for the people. It brings people together from across the political spectrum to pass laws that strengthen our democracy and protect it from anti-democratic threats. Since Silver and Lynn founded the organization in 2012, it has racked up 129 political wins in states and localities to pass ranked choice voting, open primaries, and anti-gerrymandering and ethics reforms. In the last year, RepresentUs has also been working to pass the Freedom to Vote Act in Congress and fight gerrymandering in swing states.

“I’m incredibly proud of what this organization has done in a decade thanks to our entire team, the dozens of incredibly talented people who have contributed to its success, and the thousands of supporters who power our work,” former CEO Josh Silver said. “While it's never easy for a founder to leave a leadership role, I take comfort in the fact that Josh Lynn is uniquely qualified and equipped to lead RepresentUs to its next chapter.”

Silver will serve in an advisory capacity as Executive Chairman to ensure a smooth transition.

“The tragic anniversary of January 6 reminds us that we’re still in a perilous moment for America’s democracy. But amid all the extremism and gridlock, there is a path forward. In my new role, I remain committed to our mission of bringing Americans of all political stripes together to put country over party and save our democracy, and ensuring that RepresentUs is a beacon of hope in leading those efforts,” said RepresentUs CEO Joshua Graham Lynn. “I thank Josh Silver sincerely for being a partner in making sure we are set for success in the future, and look forward to empowering our exceptionally talented staff to lead the way.”

Joshua Graham Lynn most recently served as president of RepresentUs, and led the organization’s marketing and movement-building efforts, responsible for bringing tens of millions of people into the nonpartisan movement to save democracy. A seasoned executive and creative director, his work has been honored by the Rebrand 100 Awards, the Webby Awards, The Clios, and the ADDYs.

“The threats our nation is experiencing require us to remain nimble and flexible, and I’m so proud of how our leadership and the rest of the organization have risen to the occasion by navigating those challenges together,” said RepresentUs President and COO Ellie Collinson. “Since I joined RepresentUs, I’ve been impressed with JGL’s dedication to listening, learning and growing. He brings a growth mindset to his work, and is someone whose passion for this issue is truly infectious.”

In 2022, RepresentUs will continue harnessing the power of the pro-democracy movement to get federal voting rights legislation over the finish line, and fight for the fairest possible redistricting maps in Pennsylvania, Florida, Wisconsin, North Carolina and elsewhere. As the midterms draw closer, the organization will focus on protecting our elections by preventing election manipulation in battleground states.

RepresentUs is the nation’s largest grassroots anti-corruption organization, bringing together conservatives, progressives, and everyone in between to pass anti-corruption laws in cities and states to stop political bribery, end secret money, and fix our broken elections.

RepresentUs is America’s leading anti-corruption organization working city-by-city, state-by-state to fix our broken political system.
