By The RepresentUs Team
April 22, 2026

2026 is off to a roaring start at RepresentUs. More than 6,500 supporters have joined the Congressional Courage Campaign this year. We're building 11 new local action teams, with several already gearing up to reach out to their congressional district offices. And national outreach teams are making an immediate impact on key campaigns like stopping the SAVE America Act.

It's time to celebrate the work and highlight some key leaders who've gone above and beyond.

Read to the end to learn about a special opportunity to connect with us in May!

Volunteer Spotlight: Sara Hoffman

First, we'd like to give a special thank you to Text Team Captain, Sara Hofmann. Sara has put in countless long hours designing informative textbank scripts, assuring quality high-impact communications and sending out thousands of texts over the last year. These messages help recruit new supporters, bring our community to action and educate thousands of Americans across the U.S.

Sara's favorite part of this work is the community building, deep collaboration and overall support that is sparked when people come together to make change. Without dedicated volunteer leaders like her, we wouldn’t be able to reach vital audiences that make our work powerful and impactful. Here's to Sara! We're so appreciative of her hard work! 🍻

With leaders like Sara spearheading the charge, we have been able to achieve high-impact campaigns like stopping the SAVE America Act. Over the last month, RepresentUs volunteers have:

  • Made more than 30,000 calls to supporters in states with key swing Senate votes, and
  • Generated more than 3,000 additional messages to Senate members via email and text.

Our activities have been focused on U.S. Senator John Fetterman's office and we are already seeing the impact. After consistent pressure from our calls, texts and email, Senator Fetterman has shifted his statement on the SAVE America Act, going from support to skepticism in recent weeks.

Volunteer Spotlight: Wes Dodge

As Congressional Courage Campaign in-district teams get up and rolling, it's the perfect time to celebrate another long-time RepresentUs local leader who is rallying behind this campaign: Wes Dodge.

Wes Dodge joined RepresentUs after the Unrig Summit in 2018. During the summit, he learned that there was a clear path to make meaningful change and connected with a broad network of people all pushing in the same direction. Since then, he has testified in front of legislative committees, participated in public discussions and presentations and worked to build and strengthen pro-voter coalitions.

Currently, Wes, like many other volunteer leaders, is adding Congressional Courage to his advocacy, forming a local action team in swing district Nebraska 2. Thank you, Wes, for all your hard work and dedication to this movement!

Other districts where local action teams are in the process of forming include New York's 1st, Georgia's 10th, Wisconsin's 2nd, Colorado's 2nd and 3rd, and New Mexico's 1st, with interest in Iowa's 1st, Michigan's 7th and Washington's 5th.

Volunteer Spotlight: Damien Hughes

Finally, we want to give a massive shoutout to Engagement Team Leader, Damien Hughes, who has built a community bot that is helping supporters on our Slack Online Community get active and prepped upon joining the movement. Damien has been building this tool with his deep coding knowledge and spent over a year on the project. Now it's ready to go. To sign up or sign back into the community, go here.

Damien has been an instrumental part of our online community now since 2020, and has put thousands of hours towards maintaining a non-partisan culture and tech-friendly experience for supporters across the U.S.
