Washington, D.C. — Thousands of Americans sparked to action by RepresentUs’s mobilization team contacted their Senators after learning about the potential legalization of executive branch corruption through the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (H.R.3633). On September 15, the Senate failed to reach the required 60-vote threshold to pass the bill amid questions concerning ethics rules and the Trump family’s entanglements in the cryptocurrency industry.
RepresentUs CEO Maria McFarland Sánchez-Moreno stated:
"Americans are sick of Congress putting the president and his family above the law. When our followers learned that the crypto bill had massive loopholes letting the Trump family engage in self-dealing and other corruption through crypto, they spoke out, loudly. The Senate listened, for now, but we need Congress to go much further, including by investigating brazen self-dealing in the executive branch."
