The Restore Trust in Congress Act was just unveiled in the House of Representatives by a bipartisan coalition made up of both progressive and conservative lawmakers.
This legislation would finally address stock trading in Congress by:
- Banning Members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from trading individual stocks
- Forcing newly elected members to divest before being sworn in
- Fining Members a 10% penalty (based on stock value) for noncompliance
Your help is needed to call supporters in key areas and connect them with their Representative to urge them to do whatever they can to get this passed.
