Florence, MA - RepresentUs has named Jose Carbonell its new Vice President of Marketing and Communications as the organization prepares to take on special interests and strengthen American democracy during the critical 2024 election. Carbonell comes to RepresentUs with a wide range of experience as a marketing executive, having previously held leadership roles at the National Audubon Society, UNICEF, Nickelodeon, and Stamford Health.
“During my time in the health care, environmental, and humanitarian relief spaces, our work was consistently hamstrung by a government that appears more concerned with the needs of special interests than those of regular people,” Carbonell says. “I now believe the best way to address this and countless other problems is advocating for structural reforms that can fix our broken system. I look forward to doing just that with RepresentUs.”
Carbonell will lead RepresentUs’ marketing and communications department as it supports campaigns to protect the ballot initiative process, bring Ranked Choice Voting to new cities and states, and counter the influence of money in politics during the 2024 election. In addition to its work on ballot measures and legislative campaigns, RepresentUs will produce engaging content to educate voters about systemic corruption and the structural reforms that can help eliminate it.
