On his first day in office, President Donald Trump rescinded Executive Order 13989 requiring individuals working in the Executive Branch to agree to the following:
Lobbyist Gift Ban: I will not accept gifts from lobbyists during my service.
Lobbyists Entering Government: If I was a registered lobbyist or foreign agent within the last 2 years, I will not participate in related matters or seek employment with agencies I lobbied.
Lobbying After Leaving Government: I will not lobby Government officials or foreign governments for 2 years after leaving office.
Golden Parachute Ban: I will not accept salary or cash payments from my former employer that are specifically tied to taking a Government position.
Employment Qualification Commitment: I will make hiring decisions based on qualifications, competence, and experience.
77% of Americans think it was a bad idea. Do you agree? Should Executive Branch personnel have to agree to these rules?
