Congress had a chance to force the president to seek authorization before continuing the war in Iran. Instead, they allowed the war to go forward.

If Congress is willing to support a war, they need to also answer basic questions about it:

  • How will Americans be protected from skyrocketing gas prices?
  • What happens if our weapons stockpiles run low, including any needed for our defense?
  • What is the actual legal and strategic justification for this war?
  • How much is this war going to cost, and how will we pay for it?
  • How will you avoid a forever war that drains our resources and sends our youth to fight?
  • What is the plan to end this conflict?
  • What is the plan to avoid a draft?
  • What is the plan to avoid boots on the ground?
  • Who is profiting from this war?
  • And how are you ensuring that decisions about the war aren't being driven by people's interests in trading stocks or cashing in on this war?

Congress made their call. Now they owe the American people answers.
