What We’re Demanding from Congress

Congress is failing us. While corrupt leaders grab power and profit, Congress sits on the sidelines. It’s time they do their job and defend the Constitution, check abuses of power, and put the people first.

1. Uphold and Defend the Constitution

Congress is the branch closest to the people. The Constitution gave them the power to check presidents and protect our freedoms,  but they’ve given that power away. They must:

  • Regain control of our budget
  • Reclaim authority over trade and tariffs
  • Rein in emergency powers and end “unlimited” national emergencies
  • Protect and safeguard our elections
  • Take back control of war and troop deployments

2. Hold the Executive Branch Accountable

Checks and balances exist to stop abuse of power. Congress must stop looking the other way while presidents and their allies abuse power and profit from public office. That means:

  • Investigating and holding hearings into corruption and abuse
  • Passing laws to prevent self-enrichment and conflicts of interest
  • Enforcing oversight tools like subpoenas and budget control
  • Blocking corrupt practices like self-pardons and foreign election interference

3. Represent the People, Not Themselves or the President

Congress must serve the people, not special interests. That means:

  • Refusing to blindly push a president’s agenda at the expense of their constituents
  • Restoring public trust in our democracy
  • Promoting stronger ethics and transparency reforms for Congress, such as:
    • Banning members of Congress from trading stocks
    • Closing the revolving door between Congress and lobbyists
    • Strengthening anti-bribery laws
