Nine states and the District of Columbia have already instituted Automatic Voter Registration, adding hundreds of thousands of people to the voter rolls while reducing costs and improving security.
Washington is on the verge of joining them thanks to the work of strong pro-voter groups including the Washington Voting Justice Coalition — composed of Washington State Labor Council, Win/Win Network, One America, Fuse Washington, and The Washington Bus — along with the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, the League of Women Voters, State Voices, America Votes, Center for American Progress, ReThink Media, and more.
