Congress must do more to protect our elections. RepresentUs is partnering with Issue One, who convened the bipartisan National Council on Election Integrity that calls for at least $400 million in funding to secure our country's critical election infrastructure. During each of the last two fiscal years, Congress appropriated just $75 million to help fund federal elections, a fraction of what election officials and outside experts say is needed.
We know that foreign adversaries have been escalating election interference efforts in recent years to undermine American democracy and trust in elections. Election security is a national security issue, and it's why Republicans and Democrats in Congress must work together to bolster our cybersecurity defenses and ensure that election officials across the country have the necessary resources to modernize and strengthen our nation’s critical election infrastructure before voters cast their ballots in 2024.
To elevate the voices of local election officials, and bring attention to the need for increased federal investment in election security and administration, Issue One also launched Faces of Democracy last year.
Tell your legislator: Invest in protecting American elections from foreign interference.
