Since the start of Trump's second term in office, ICE agents have been involved in multiple deadly and violent incidents:
- A man fatally shot in Biddlesford, Maine
- A man fatally shot in Houston, Texas...whom ICE agents mistook for someone they were searching for
- A U.S. citizen and mother shot and killed
- An undocumented immigrant shot and killed in Illinois
- An American citizen shot in Los Angeles
- A 5-year-old detained while coming home from preschool
- A 37-year-old American ICU nurse shot point-blank multiple times during a DHS operation captured on video
This is part of a dangerous and growing pattern of brutality and intimidation by immigration agents. Since President Trump launched his immigration crackdown, federal agents have opened fire at least 28 times and held bystanders or protesters at gunpoint in at least 46 incidents. Eight people have been killed and 14 more injured.
Yet DHS leadership and the White House have minimized these events, and the Department of Justice has failed to pursue full, independent investigations or to fully cooperate with state criminal investigations. ICE now operates with a massive budget and less oversight than any other law enforcement agency in the country.
Enough is enough. Now is the moment to speak up.
Sign this petition now to demand that Congress:
- Investigate ICE’s and CBP’s use of force and the orders coming from the top of DHS
- Push for independent, full criminal investigations of these cases
Regardless of where you stand on immigration, no agency should have essentially unlimited funding and zero accountability.
