URGENT UPDATE 📌

President Trump just announced that Kristi Noem has been fired as Secretary of Homeland Security. This is an important step towards accountability, and it wouldn’t have happened without people speaking up and demanding action from Congress. Let’s keep demanding better.

In recent months, ICE agents have been involved in multiple deadly and violent incidents:

  • A U.S. citizen and mother shot and killed
  • An undocumented immigrant shot and killed in Illinois
  • An American citizen shot in Los Angeles
  • A 5-year-old detained while coming home from preschool
  • A 37-year-old American ICU nurse shot point-blank multiple times during a DHS operation captured on video

This is part of a dangerous and growing pattern of brutality and intimidation by immigration agents. Since President Trump launched his immigration crackdown, federal agents have opened fire at least 23 times and held bystanders or protesters at gunpoint in at least 43 incidents. Six people have been killed and twelve more injured.

Yet DHS leadership and the White House have minimized these events, and the Department of Justice has failed to pursue full, independent investigations or to fully cooperate with state criminal investigations. ICE now operates with a massive budget and less oversight than any other law enforcement agency in the country.

Congress is feeling the pressure. After significant public outcry DHS has been partially shutdown after funding ran out. Lawmakers are deadlocked over whether to pass new funding without stronger oversight of ICE and CBP. Now is the moment to speak up.

Sign this petition now to demand that Congress:

  1. Investigate ICE’s and CBP’s use of force and the orders coming from the top of DHS
  2. Push for independent, full criminal investigations of these cases
  3. Cut off ICE funding as long as the abuses continue

Regardless of where you stand on immigration, no agency should have essentially unlimited funding and zero accountability.

Tell your Congressperson they need to investigate ICE abuse and demand accountability.
