On Sunday, the Washington Post released a tape in which President Trump demanded that the Georgia Secretary of State abandon his sworn duty and help the president “find 11,780 votes.”
This tape was as outrageous as it was un-American. And even worse: Twelve Senators and many more Representatives are joining the chorus with their own plan to challenge the results when they meet this Wednesday.
This partisan scheme to throw our millions of legally cast ballots has gone on long enough. This election was conducted freely and fairly — and every elected official who suggests otherwise is doing potentially irreversible damage to the state of our democracy.
We simply can’t let this go unchallenged. Send a message to your elected officials now demanding that they respect the results of the 2020 election and stand with democracy when congress meets this Wednesday.
